I’ve seen digital pens before. They seem like a neat alternative for students who don’t have a laptop or just can’t be bothered to lug a laptop to each and every class. You write as normal and the pen remembers each pen stroke and can upload all your notes or doodles to a computer at a later time.

A key difference with the Zpen is that it doesn’t require special paper to record the data(paper that is usually rather expensive). The battery-powered Zpen can use regular sheet paper. It comes with a receiver that you clip to the top of the paper you are writing on. It also has handwriting to digital text conversion software built into the pen.

The Zpen has 1 GB of storage space and connects via USB. The price is a little steep at �99.99 which is roughly $180 US.

There’s nothing that really makes this particular iPod-compatible jacket stand out, but that’s probably why it caught my eye. The simple styling and color scheme help hide the fact that you’ve secretly got an iPod tucked away in a pocket, which is great if you’re worried about it getting stolen, or are just worried about looking like the type of person who would wear a jacket with an iPod remote on the sleeve. The jacket features a mesh lining, bungy sleeves and hem for wind protection as well as inner cuff hand warmers for those days when it’s cold, but not cold enough to wear gloves. I’m fairly comfortable with my position in life. That’s not to say that I wouldn’t mind having more money, but I’m not the kind of guy that needs to light a cigar or a fire with a roll of $100 bills. I’m more of the type that will buy cheap fire starters that look like a roll of $100 bills.

When I see the Heat Me coffee heater I think it is both neat and more dangerous than any other heaters whose only flaw is that they may heat up your elbow. For now the Heat Me is still in the concept stage but with billions of coffee drinkers around it’s sure to be created regardless of it’s dangers.

The bag is made of recycled PET bottles or soda bottles. According to the site it also uses a solar cell supplier that has higher efficiency cells which in turn gives a faster charging time. It turns out, that solar cell supplier is the reason for the delays in releasing the bag. Although the bag itself isn’t new news, someone actually managed to find the site that was selling it and give it a price tag. However, sadly it states that it will be released in the spring of this year. Obviously, since it is well past then, there is no way to know when it will finally be released. Once it does it will be sold for $599 and it can hold up to a 17″ laptop.
